Wheelersburg captures 2018 Little League Softball® World Series

PORTLAND, Ore. — Wheelersburg Little League (Central), from Wheelersburg, Ohio, captured the 2018 Little League Softball® World Series Championship by defeating Tunkhannock Little League (East), from Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, 3-0.

Both teams were strong in the circle as Central’s AndiJo Howard and East’s Kaya Hannon each went the distance. Howard twirled a three-hit shutout with seven strikeouts and zero walks. In defeat, Hannon, surrendered three run on four hits with six punchouts and one walk.

LITTLE LEAGUE SOFTBALL WORLD SERIES RESULTS

Wheelersburg’s Haley Myers and Maddison Kotcamp each racked up multiple hits. Elaina Kulsicavage recorded two of Tunkhannock’s three base hits.
