NFL Legend Joe Montana Visits DeLucia's Brick Oven Pizza In Raritan
RARITAN, NJ — Delucia’s Brick Oven Pizza has grown so famous that even four-time Super Bowl champion, Joe Montana had to stop by for a slice.
“It was surreal to meet him…. He’s a legend! One of my first Super Bowl memories was when they beat the Bengals it was 1982. He really was such a great guy and so nice!” said Christian DeLucia, fourth-generation owner of the pizzeria at 3 1st Ave. in Raritan.
DeLucia said Montana, who played mostly with the San Franscico 49ers and is considered one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, was in the area for a big convention in Edison on Saturday and one of his representatives had reached out.

They wanted to bring him in for pizza.
“He loves pizza! I’m assuming his representatives heard from the review. I’ll take it! I had Joe Montana eat DeLucia’s Pizza I never would of thought that would happen in a million years,” said DeLucia.

DeLucia’s pizza rose to fame after the best-tasting slice internet celebrity Dave “El Pres” Portnoy gave them a near-perfect review in January 2022.
