NFCA reveals 2017 High School all-region teams

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association revealed that 160 student-athletes representing 93 programs received 2017 NFCA High School All-Region accolades.

 

These awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association’s five regions with first- and second-team recognitions. NFCA member coaches from each region’s respective committees selected the honorees, and recipients are now eligible for the 2017 NFCA High School All-America squads.

2017 High School All-Region Teams

Notre Dame High School (East Region) out of Elmira, N.Y., North Davidson (N.C.) High School (South) and Spain Park High School (South) out of Birmingham, Ala. led the way with five selection each. Champion (Warren, Ohio) High School (North), Donovan Catholic (Toms River, N.J.) High School (East) and Sheldon (Sacramento, Calif.) High School (West) had four honorees apiece.

In the South Central Region, Deer Park (Texas) High School, The Woodlands (Texas) High School and Millard South (Omaha, Neb.) High School each had three student-athletes recognized to lead their region.

Keystone (Lagrange, Ohio) High School, Notre Dame, Donovan Catholic and Buchanan (Clovis, Calif.) High School topped the charts with three first-team selections.

The 2017 NFCA High School All-American teams will be announced on Friday, July 7.
