Montpellier turn down Nottingham Forest bid for Maxime Estève
L’Équipe report this evening that Montpellier central defender Maxime Estève is the subject of interest from Nottingham Forest, with the Premier League outfit putting an €11m bid on the table for the Frenchman.
The 20-year-old has been on the radar of a number of clubs across the continent, although the Hérault side intend to at least see out the season with the defender. As a result, Nottingham Forest’s bid of €11m including bonuses has been turned down.
Brighton and Sassuolo had been the first two to make a preliminary move for Estève, while other clubs – an unnamed German one, for instance – have looked into the possibility of a move in the summer.

With 38 appearances in the league since breaking through into the senior squad last season, Estève has emerged as one of Ligue 1’s brightest young defensive talents. He is under contract in the sout of France until the end of the 2024/25 season.
