Jacobson, Voss, Clark, Franco, Womack selected MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Players of the Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Wilson’s (Washington, D.C.) Emma Jacobson, Marist’s (Chicago, Ill.) Alexis Voss, Parkland’s (Winston-Salem, N.C.) Jalyn Rose Clark, Monahans’ (Texas) Taylor Franco and Glenco’s (Hillsboro, Ore.) Isabel Womack were selected MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Players of the Week for games played the week of April 30-April 6.

East Region
Jacobson cranked four home runs, drove in 12 and produced a whopping 2.500 slugging percentage. She homered twice against School Without Walls and McKinley Tech. Against Tech, she also doubled two times, drove in six, scored four times, while going 4-for-4 at the plate. Jacobson also went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs scored versus Woodson.

North Region
Voss had a tremendous week leading Marist to five wins. She homered four times and drove in 22 runs, including eight in a victory over Benet Academy. Voss went yard in four consecutive games and drove in five runs in game two against Benet and in an 8-7 triumph over Plainfield North. She recorded three four-hit games and five multi-hit contests overall. For the week, Voss hit .850 with 17 hits, four doubles, 11 runs scored and a 1.650 slugging percentage.

South Region
Clark clubbed her way to the weekly honor, hitting .909 with three doubles, a triple, two home runs, 16 RBI and a 1.909 slugging percentage. She opened her week on April 30 by hitting a grand slam, doubling twice and driving in a season-best eight runs against Ben L. Smith. Clark followed that performance by going 4-for-4 with a triple, six RBI and three runs scored versus Mount Tabor. She closed out the week with a double, long ball and two RBI against Southwest Guilford.

South Central Region
In her lone start of the week, Franco put forth a monumental performance to help Monahans to a 1-0 over Seminole. The senior hurler struck out 30 batters, allowed one hit and two walks in a 13-inning complete-game performance.

West Region
Womack twirled three complete games, including one and two-hit shutouts of Liberty and Century, respectively. For the week, she was 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 33 strikeouts. Womack walked five and surrendered five hits. In her two-hitter against Century, Womack fanned 12 and walked three, while going 1-for-3 with an RBI. She struck out 10 and surrendered an unearned run on two hits against Aloha. Again, Womack chipped in offensively with a 2-for-4 outing with a double and two RBI. In final start, the righty punched out 11 more and issued one free pass in her one-hitter versus Liberty.
