Fairfield-Based Cycl Crft Will Repair Your Bike Wherever You Are
FAIRFIELD, CT — To call Cycl Crft Fairfield’s newest bicycle shop is not entirely accurate.
Owner Jeremy Brittain and mechanic Mike Conlan, are not new to the town’s cycling scene, they toiled for five years under the banner of a mobile cycling maintenance franchise, but decided not to renew the contract.
And Cycl Crft was born.

“We can offer a lot more, as it relates to design services, bike frame painting, jersey design, among others,” Brittain told Patch. “We now have more freedom to do more of what we want to do.”
The shop currently does not sell bikes, but offers a full range of maintenance and repair services. The kicker? Yes, you can bring your bike to their shop, but with their fully equipped van, they will come to your home or office, if that is where your bike is.

Despite the wide coverage area, Brittain said that at least 40 percent of its business is from Fairfield residents. “Fairfield has been huge for us.”
“Having a physical location is so important to having a mobile service,” Brittain said. “There are people who like bringing their bike in for maintenance, and we’re fine with that.”
He also said that with the busy lifestyles of a lot of Fairfield County customers, the van service is also in high demand.
On Thursday, the company held a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Fairfield Economic Development Director Mark Barnhart and Chamber of Commerce President Beverly Balaz. Barnhart, a recreational cyclist, told Patch that he’s used Cycl Crft’s van service, which he found convenient.
During the summer months, the shop also hosts small group rides on Wednesday evenings for about a half-dozen experienced riders, but Brittain said he hopes to expand that to include group rides for less advanced riders.
Brittain also said that he hopes to hire another mechanic in 2025, if business continues on an upward trajectory.
“We don’t sell bikes, we concentrate on service,” Brittain said.
Cyclists can book service appointments on the Cycl Crft website, or by calling 203-448-9753.
