Elmhurst State Rep Hopefuls Get Union Cash
ELMHURST, IL – The Democratic and Republican candidates for Elmhurst’s state representative are drawing contributions, including from unions, according to their financial reports.
Elmhurst Alderman Marti Deuter and Addison Township Supervisor Dennis Reboletti, an Elmhurst resident, are vying to succeed Democratic state Rep. Jenn Ladisch-Douglass of Elmhurst, who decided against running for a second term.
District 45 includes nearly all of Elmhurst and parts of Hinsdale, Western Springs and Westmont, among other towns.

In the last quarter, Deuter raised $20,870, according to her state Board of Elections quarterly report. That includes a $5,000 loan from herself and $2,000 from a fund associated with the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council.
Meanwhile, Reboletti collected $12,600, including $750 from the Burr Ridge-based LIUNA Chicago Laborers’ District Council, according to his quarterly report.

His donations also included $750 from the Itasca-based Luetkehans, Brady, Garner & Armstrong law firm, which handles Addison Township’s legal work.
“Our law firm has represented the township for 40 years or so,” Reboletti said in an interview. “They have been longtime advocates for the township. They have an opportunity to contribute to good government. They represent a number of municipal clients.”
Patch asked Deuter about her fundraising and whether city contractors would donate.
In an email, she said, “Our campaign’s broad base of support includes 90 individual donors and counting. I will always keep city business separate from the campaign.”
Last year, Ladisch-Douglass narrowly defeated Deanne Mazzochi, an Elmhurst Republican who served four years.
District 45 has been a battleground in recent election cycles, with both parties pouring hundreds of thousands of dollars into the races.
In 2022, Reboletti lost in the costly battle for the District 23 Senate seat to Democratic incumbent Suzy Glowiak Hilton of Western Springs. She drew 54 percent of the vote to Reboletti’s 46 percent.
In that race, Hilton collected $3.2 million in donations to Reboletti’s $500,000. Hilton’s seat is not up this year.
For seats such as District 45, the party establishments like to clear the primary field for their preferred candidates, so they can focus their fundraising on the general election.
