Elderly Man Cuts Throat, Dies After Attacking Woman In Wrightwood: CPD

CHICAGO — An elderly man allegedly stabbed himself in the throat after he allegedly attacked another woman in Chicago’s Wrightwood neighborhood late Wednesday evening, Chicago police said. .

Police responded to the 3100 block of West 84th Place, where officers found a 69-year-old woman with lacerations to the throat and hands. The woman told officers that she was attacked by a man inside the residence, police said.

Officers found a 77-year-old man with lacerations to the throat. The man was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Police said the man’s injuries appear to be self-inflicted.
