Credit Card Stolen From Libertyville Vehicle, Used At Store: Police
LIBERTYVILLE, IL — The Libertyville Police Department is continuing to investigate a string of burglaries to motor vehicles that happened earlier this month in Libertyville.
The Libertyville Police Department took reports of burglaries that happened on the morning of Jan. 10, according to police reports. The first reportedly occurred shortly before 9 a.m. in the 1700 block of Northwind Boulevard, police said.
A purse was taken from the vehicle and credit cards inside the purse were used a short time later at a retail store in Johnsburg. Video surveillance from the store identified the vehicle that the suspect, or suspects, were in as a black Ford pickup truck.

Other burglaries happened between 9 and 9:50 a.m. when the front passenger-side windows of two vehicles were busted in the 600 block of Peterson Road. The owner of one of the vehicles reported a handbag and its contents were taken from the vehicle, according to a report from the Libertyville Police Department.
Libertyville Police Department Sgt. Scott Peeler said the incidents are potentially related and as of Wednesday, no arrests have been made.

“There have been no additional recent burglaries reported in that area,” he said.
Following the burglaries, police are reminding residents to lock their vehicles and remove any valuables, including keys and key fobs. Residents are also reminded to make sure their garages and residences are locked, especially at night.
