PLAINFIELD, IL — A Plainfield man is facing domestic battery and home invasion charges after he entered a woman’s apartment and choked her, according to police.
At about 3:45 p.m. Aug. 11, 28-year-old Thomas J. Bott entered the woman’s residence without her permission and battered her by grabbing her face, choking her and pushing her against a wall, Commander Anthony Novak told Patch. She attempted to call 911, but Bott prevented her by taking the phone away.
According to Novak, Bott then fled, and police found him a short while later at the Meijer Gas Station, 13521 S. Route 59. When he was placed under arrest, officers searched his backpack to find a wallet and a full prescription bottle belonging to the woman, Novak said.
