Compass 51 Book Club To Feature Westchester Author

OSSINING, NY — The Compass 51 Reading Series has selected its winter book — written by a Westchester County resident — and a unique place to meet and talk about it.

The winter book club meetup will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9 at Sing Sing Kill Brewery in Ossining.

Organizer Catherine Cioffi said the discussion will be about the newly published book “Love, Me” by Jessica Saunders, who lives in Westchester.

“The whole idea behind it is to build a community where women can connect, network and discover some fantastic authors and books,” she said.

“We’re all about hosting stellar events, bringing in talented authors to share insights about their work, engage in enlightening discussions with our members and enjoy local businesses like Sing Sing Kill and Red Horse,” Cioffi said.

Attendees will be able to meet Saunders, snap a photo, hear her speak about the book and even get their copies autographed.

“Love, Me” is about Rachel Miller, a lawyer and mother of two, who is comfortable in a courtroom and on the sidelines of a soccer field. Life is good until racy photos of her and her high school boyfriend, who is now a famous actor, are published in a tabloid. The new-found attention calls into question her marriage, her career and her superstar ex.

Sing Sing Kill Brewery is located at 75 Spring St. in Ossining.
