Bank Robbed In Havertown, Mother And Son In Custody: Police
HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township said an mother and son are in custody after a Thursday morning bank robbery.
According to police, the Santander bank branch near the Quarry Center in Havertown was robbed Thursday morning.
A 56-year-old Doylestown man came into the bank and told the teller it was a hold up.

Police told Patch the man did not have a weapon or a note.
As the teller handed over a few hundred dollars in cash, they hit the alarm button and the security company was able to see the incident in real time over the cameras, police said.

Luckily, an officer was just two blocks away and was able to stop the vehicle the pair fled in and make arrests.
Police said cash was strewn throughout the vehicle.
The suspect told officers he came down from Doylestown to steal tools from Lowes, according to police.
Charges have not yet been filed against the man, as he is in a hospital for drug abuse treatment, police said.
The mother, who is 89, is not expected to be charged.
Police said more details on the incident will be released later Thursday.
