Lockdown At Fairfax High School Over; Students Released

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — The incident at Fairfax High School has been resolved, according to an alert sent out by the City of Fairfax Police at 2:41 p.m.

Police put the high school located at 3501 Lion Run in Fairfax City on lockdown around 1 p.m., in order to investigate a 911 hang-up call.

Matt Kaiser, a spokesman with Fairfax City, told Patch that the police response and lockdown were standard procedure for any 911 call received from a school.

“That’s the world we live in these days,” he said. “There is no detail on that. There was no verified victim, which means they don’t have the source of the call.”

All students were reported safe and are being released in the following order:

Parents can pick up their students by the Field House-Lobby Door. Delays are expected.

“Early dismissal has turned into a normal dismissal. The staggered release is going to help with the traffic here,” Kaiser said.

Lion Run and Blenheim Boulevard reopened to traffic, according to an alert from the city sent at 3:13 p.m.
