Christophe Galtier provides worrying update on Danilo’s injury
Paris Saint-Germain took on Marseille in the latest edition of Le Classique on Sunday evening. In the 25th minute of the game, Danilo Pereira had to make his way off the field with an injury. Nordi Mukiele came on to replace the Portuguese.
PSG secured a 1-0 win over OM after Neymar notched up the decisive goal just before the end of the halftime whistle.
In the post-match press conference, Christophe Galtier provided a worrying update on Danilo’s injury. As reported by RMC Sport, Galtier said that the defender had felt “severe pain in his hamstring”. The report also suggests that the 31-year-old could be on the sideline for several weeks due to the respective injury.
The Portugal national team will be closely monitoring the situation ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. On Sunday, Sergio Ramos was serving his suspension after receiving marching orders in the Ligue 1 fixture against Reims. Presnel Kimpembe has not made his return from injury yet. If the predicament doesn’t ease off a bit, it, as per the report, could get messy in the defence for Galtier’s side.
