2 Shot, Suspect Sought Near USC

LOS ANGELES CA — Police are looking for a suspect in a double shooting near the USC campus Wednesday afternoon, and residents and students are advised to avoid the area.

According to the USC Department of Public Safety, an LAPD investigation is ongoing at Jefferson Boulevard and Budlong Avenue.

Los Angeles police arrived on the scene shortly after 4 p.m. to find one 50-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound and a second victim who did not appear to be conscious or breathing, said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Im.

Three ambulances were called to the scene, he said.

“It’s a fluid situation,” he added, urging people to avoid the area.

“Police activity at the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard and Budlong Avenue but no immediate threat exists. Please stay away from the area,” the USC Department of Public Safety announced on X. “There is no university involvement or threat to the campus community. Avoid the area if possible.”
